Night & Light

Light Painting is so much fun! My favorite was the light sketching assignment. The first two pictures are for my grade, the other two were for fun, because I did not do the light sketching, clearly since I am in the pictures. How I achieved these first photos was, I left the shutter open 15-30 seconds (some vary but mostly 30 sec). I lowered my aperture and then set the self timer to 30 seconds. I then ran with a flash light and traced around Brandon real fast. And drew on the ground or the walls with the flash light as well. Edge Effects

All of the images I cleaned up in Photoshop using the Levels tool and dodge tool. Now on the Edge Effect on the first image I first added a new layer above the original and then used a white fill on the background. I then moved the layer below the original image to make it now the background. I applied a black mask to the original image and grabbed a brush stroke I liked and revealed parts of the original image back. I played around with the opacity as I did that.
